Take a Seat...Stamping Question:)

So, stampy girls...Here is a question for you. I have more stamps to draw up tonight...and I love when Karen (from Sugar Nellie) says do whatever...because I have tons of ideas in my head, and it gives me a chance to put them on paper. (Obviously, it is always easy to send her images from my Etsy store...but I prefer the freedom and excitement of drawing up something new.:)

I already have over half of my stamps completed for this month's batch...but I'd like to include a couple sitting poses. I know my hippie chick is one of the favorites...she is easy to color and fills a space up nicely...

Take a look at the poses below...Don't concentrate too much on the girl...or the personality...but just the *position*...Which do you like best for a stamp?...I already have a character or two in mind-- but I'd like your opinion as far as design, too...since I'm happiest when you are happy:)

1.Got this purdy girl from the Victoria's Secret website. (And darn it...I ended up finding a really cute pair of summer shoes-- so this one cost me some muno:)...Anyways, she is my personal favorite...Could just be cuz she is my favorite VS model, too:)...Don't be led astray like me girls-- pick based on pose:)!!

2. I just like the comfy-ness of this pose...It reminds me of how a girl might sit who is daydreaming...or thinking of a boy she likes:)...I probably couldn't sit like this if I wanted to now...I am so un-stretchy!

3. I like this sitting position because it is a totally different perspective than anything I've done so far for stamps...

4. My other favorite.

5. Wrapped up legs. Cute for stripped socks or pretty shoes!

6. And final girl...I could do killer shoes on this one. What would you like to see on a pair of shoes, while we're at it??...A bow...flower...platform? Any suggestions??

I'd love to hear opinions...This may not be how other artists do it...asking for your input-- but, to be honest, I'd rather know exactly what you want:)...I've had quite a few offers from other companies to design stamps-- but I love, love Sugar Nellie because it is a company that truly values the input and preferences of the crafty girls who buy the products. I am really happy to be a part of the HOS...and feel very privileged to see my girls popping up on blogs across the globe:)...

I appreciate the time you take to leave comments...and will definitely keep them in mind while I draw up a couple more characters for stamps this week:)

  1. In this order, I like 1, 3, and 5. 1 for obvious reasons! 3, man that would just be really rad to have some giant shoes and some interesting detail in the soles. Probably never been done before either. 5, like you said, you can get some really neet socks/shoes in there. So cute! Make sure to post the finished product!

  3. I love Hippie Chick - she's on my blog on my niece's birthday card!

I think I like all of them except 3, possibly because I can't see myself colouring it as a stamp.

2 reminds me of how I used to sit - like you, I probably couldn't do it anymore.

    I like 5 as well.

As for shoes, mary janes, platforms or bare feet, please.

  4. First of all, i am just in awe of your talent! That you can look at a pose and draw it! Maybe that is because i am so completely untalented in that area! But about the poses they are all great, and have different feels about them. But i am gonna go with 1 and 5 for my favorites. Love your blog!

  6. I like number 4 because it's different to any of the others that you've done and I also like number 6 cos like you said - perfect for SHOES!!! Would be nice to see some fab shoes (not boots for a change). Number 1 is pretty cool too just cos it makes for an interesting shape. Whatever you do Krista will be amazing!!! Can't wait!!!!! 8. Gosh, I've been coming and going from this post for ages. First of all, let me THANK YOU - for the AMAZING sketches you provide to create the rubber for us stampers who have a SERIOUS addiction to Simply Sassy!! You have a talent which is unmatched girl! Honestly.

    Onto the job in hand..
5, 2, 6, 4. In that order. Five is my fave out of this lot - stripped socks and pretty shoes sounds pretty awesome to me!!

I would love to see shoes with a big bow! That would be awesome. Or how about Converse look-a-likes for a more tomboy-ish image?!

I LOVE how you are asking for our opinions, you're awesome, and super sweet!!

I CANNOT WAIT to see what you come up with! <3 xo Lou.

  10. I like the sitting poses because they tend to be bigger images and therefore more to colour - and as you know colouring is my passion.
I know this is lowering the tone here Krista, but I just can't help thinking that poor girl in the last picture looks like she is constipated and in pain :S
Anyway, moving swiftly on, the first picture is the most appealing but I think I'm getting a bit sidetracked like you lol
I can see me colouring poses 4 and 5 too.
And my last wee tuppence worth.... would love to see another girl with the same attitude as Pillow Talk, there's just something about her.
But really, it wouldn't really matter to me what you draw because I'm a huge fan

  11. Hmmmmm, I'm gonna have to say no to number 3, IMP it would be very awkward on a stamp. I like number one, but could you pull it off w/o the sex appeal, lol so it would be more versitile?? Those are just sexy legs, lol. I'm tossed about 2 might have to see it first, lol, like the idea, not sure it would pan out. 4 I think has some real possibility with some scene? I think 5 could be going places and has some more options, I like it! 6, ok, but what's her top doing, I'm not really digging the hiding arms, idk looks weird to me. Hope all this input helps! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

  12. I have to say you are very special the way you get involved with what you are doing & how you think about us as stampers & what we want. It's quite unique & I do agree with what you say about Sugar Nellie - there is something very special & unique about that company. As to the question in hand. Here goes:
    1. Makes me think of a professional skating girl who's just finished her routine & that is the finishing pose. It's clearly a pose.
    2. Like you it's the comfyness in this one.
    3. DO NOT LIKE. Difficult to colour. Even the photo looks wrong to me.
    4. Yes please. She's looking at something or something has caught her eye.
    5. I'm drawn to this one - not sure why, it's very natural.
    6. My second least favourite.

    I surprise myself - it looks like 4 & 5 with 5 a clear favourite as it's just very real & natural.

I love your idea of shoes - pretty ones with straps or tap dancing ones with large bows. Striped socks & dainty slip on shoes like ballet pumps.
    Just some spontaneous reactions here.

Thanks so much for involving us.

  13. Pose 1, 2 and the last one. A flower would be cute on a shoe too. And yes i know what you mean me and gianna are always suckered into buying victorias secret shoes. Heck we buy alot of stuff from them. Lol

  14. I like all of them ...except 3 ... her legs look like they go on for EVER!!!!
Not as keen on 1 or 6 ... a bit too sexy, so restrictive on who to use them for.
If I had to pick one it would be 2 or 4 or 5 ... not 1 I know, but I love the comfy relaxed look in these.
I like the idea of strippy tights and pretty shoes, although I confess to loving the Sassy footwear as it it!

What I do know is pennies are regularly dropping into my Sassy piggy bank for the next release ... and I haven't finished iking or colouring this release yet!!

  18. Hmmmm tough one...I think - 2, 5 and maybe 6...I just can't imagine the other poses on a card. And beside that - 2 and 5 reminds me of me...when I was this age. Yet - I still can and do sit in this poses.

About the shoes - platform and flower :-)

Love your blog and stamps...still haven't got time to make something with the ladies at home - shame on me :-(

    Hugs,

  19. I think they are all great poses, I would have to say however that 3, 5 and 6 are my favourites, 3 and 6 have very interesting faces and body language they seem little edgy,
and 5 is very thoughtful but also kind of insecure its the should I shouldn't I pose lol

Thanks for asking, have a fabulous,

    Hugs Bridget :0) x
