Feasts.

The kiddies were feasting today at school. Both went as Indians. Niamh has to have her trademark howling wolf painted on her face. It has become a tradition ever since my sister drew it on her little cheeks three years ago. Philly went as Little Bear:). Because all I could come up with for his face was a bear print. And it didn't really compare to howling wolf girl-- so he got a name, too:).

It was Philly's first school feast. I asked him what his favorite part of the meal was. He said the popcorn and the 'white pa-nay-no-s' (mashed potatoes:). I never make them because mine always come out grossly slimy. (I know. Only I could manage to make slimy mashed potatoes every time!) Anyways, poor kiddo doesn't even know what they are called...but I just loved how he said it. So for now he loves pa-nay-no-s. Might even get some more tomorrow...I hope he says it again cuz it is too adorable.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

  2. Looks like it was fun for them, and they are both so darn cute! 'pa-nay-no's' lol that is original and will no doubt be brought up for years to come :) If you tell me how you make your mashed potatoes might be able to help you out. I've been making them for the last five years or so and they turn out pretty good, so I'm sure that I could trouble shoot where you might be going wrong!

  10. hey honey..wow your children are stunning..loving their face paints ..they look so happy :0)...but i also have to say i'm reeling from the last ladies comment..ok i'm british and we don't do the whole thanksgiving thing..but i understood this to be a celebration?..i really don't understand why anyone could take offence..and in responce here in the UK we are very much multi cultural and my kids have been to school and encouraged to dress in asian sari's etc as part of learning about culture and acceptance...ok i will get off my soapbox now..beautiful post as always honey :0)..hugs Debs x

  11. Thanks debs:)...I think 90% of the children yesterday were dressed either as pilgrims or Indians:). It was a celebration and very innocent:). The kids enjoy learning about other cultures and traditions. I removed the comment:)...I think it is better to send those over email...thank you for your sweet, understanding words in regards to the previous comment:) !! Hugs:)
