Mama Bear.

I have officially morphed into Mama Bear.  Yup, from Brave.

I spent a good hour last night holding a crying baby girl, trying to make her feel okay about me going away for a few days.  It broke my heart.  I did seriously consider bailing on the trip.  But.  We talked about how fun it is for me to go with my mom to a city she's always wanted to visit....and how exciting it is to see my drawings in a real live booth at a trade show!:)...

And then I morphed into Mama Bear for her.  So, I'll still sorta be here.  Available for a good snuggle at night.  And a nice bowl of honey cereal in the morning:).

See me driving around today:)??
I even still fit into my favorite t-shirt:).

Thank you, Disney Store, for the perfect stuffed animal.
I actually think the fur suits me:).

We also set up living room camping today:).
With silky cheetah-print sheets that only kings and queens get to sleep on...

(So glad Walmart carries royal sheets;)

And a list for mini-me to take care of my boys.  Niamh loves the feeling of being in charge, and she is just loving her notebook full of Mommy Do's and Don'ts:).

Breathe:).

Okay.  I can do this:).
I love these two babies more than the whole world...I know they are gonna have a fun week with daddy...I know it will be so special to him and exciting for them.

But Mama Bear is just full of sniffles tonight.
Hope my fur dries quickly;)
xx

  2. I didn't leave my babies for a day until my son was 6 and my daughter was 4. I had to go to a funeral and it was only 3 days away but it was still so difficult. Great idea to morph into Mamma Bear- I will have to remember that next time I go away by myself (probably not for 6 more years :) I wish I was going to CHA so I could stop by and meet you! I love to color your illustrations! They are my favorite thing to color!

  4. Your babies will not only be okay, but better for the experience! You appear to be a loving, doting mom and while they'll miss you and you them, it's okay to have some apart time. Have a blast at CHA girlie! Revel in the kudos you will get for your talent and hard work...you've earned this! And know that your husband loves your children as much as you do and will keep them safe until you return.

Enjoy your trip, I'm sure it will be the first of many. You know how popular your digi stamps are in blogland, nearly every competition has versions of them, just think how popular they are going to be when they hit the open market !!!!!! You're on a roll girl, go for it.

  19. You go and have a super time at CHA, then you go home and tell them all about it and they'll be so proud of you! They'll have a fab time with Daddy too. I know the feeling of going is so hard I last felt it last November when I went to Paris for 5 days. & my boy is all grown up, well as grown up as a 13 yr old can be. But he tells to go do the stuff I want because he wants me too. It made him happy knowing I was doing something I've always dreamed of doing. Like we want our kids to be happy, they want mum to be happy too! Take care much love Zo xx

I know how you feel my girls are my world and last year my Hubby and I went away and the night before I told my hubby we should cancel and take the girls somewhere with us..He said it would do them good a well as me and give them some quality time with Nana..Well the morning I left I cried like a bay and Stefan all the way to Sudbury said that we could cancel..in the end I survived and when I got home the girls were awesome and they squeezed me so tight that I almost passed out..A few weeks after I was back they sat down with me and told me they did not realize all that I do and how much they oved my cooking and that I can never leave again..in all it all worked out so go have fun and I promise they will do great your hubby sounds like a great Dad...enjoy and congrats on your success...enjoy devoted follower..

  31. I think Momma bear is just such a cool idea, I cant even pretend to know what you are feeling as I have never really been away from my kids but I can well imagine. I am sure Niamh will keep them under control and you have a wonderful time.

  32. Actually it's a good sign that you felt so sad when you left yesterday. The love for your children is so big... Just as God's love for us, he don't want us to be away from Him too, always wants us close to Him... So he understands!
Have a really good time and enjoy together with your mum. So nice to have her company :-)
    Hugs Ing

  33. It's so difficult to leave the kiddies behind but I bet they'll have an absolute ball with their dad :o). You enjoy CHA and being around grown-ups all day, that's the only tiny thing I miss about being a stay at home mum.
Wish I was there!!! Mel :o)

  34. What a clever idea. I have such a struggle if I have to leave my daughters (2 and 4) as well. It is okay to do things for you sometimes too (yes I do need to take some of my own advice). Have a lovely time and try not to miss them too much.

  36. I remember the first and probably the only time I had to leave my kids. My husband and I both had to go and check out moving to another state and find a place to live. My kids had never even had a babysitter. That was one of the most difficult times. We survived!

  37. Hope you enjoy your time with your Mum, and that your kids and hubby enjoy their time without you...... but not too much, lol! It is all part of the development of a family and letting kids stretch their wings, just think of it the same as the first days of school, oh wait, maybe not (remembering floods of tears, here :-)) Donna

  39. You have such creative and sweet ways of dealing with everything life throws at you! What a fabulous idea! I'm sure Niamh will keep it all in check on the home front for you! There has not been a day since he was born that I have not seen my son, and though I know the day is coming eventually, I can only hope to handle it as bravely as you did! Your post made me both smile and tear up! I know you will have an amazing time at CHA, and there will be extra hugs waiting for you, no doubt, when you get home! Hang tough, mama bear! :)
