I think my mini Smash book is my favorite as a whole.  I am really pleased how every page turned out...so far:).  It is my 35 before 35...so each entry is something I want to accomplish/do before turning 35 in a few years (...okay, a couple years).

One thing I need to learn how to do is just relax.  I don't mean plopping down on the couch so tired that I cannot keep my eyelids open:)...but being quiet in spirit...chill...slow paced.  Even on the busy days, I'd like a feeling of peace and calm.  I think that feeling rests in Jesus for me...I need to make a daily effort not to feel overwhelmed by the things I need to get done or cross of my mental to do list.  The best way to do this is to give my day to Him.

I used my "Violet E. Vinatge" character.  She is from my upcoming e-book...and probably one of my favorite faces ever.  I love that she doesn't look childish, but is still super sweet:).  And I threw some washi-tape underneath...an Evalicious flatback (I could eat sour cream by spoonfuls; so gross, I know:)...and some My Mind's Eye bunting on top.

What is something on your "[insert age]" before "[insert age]" list??
My book is filling up quick...
so I better get crackin' :)!!

Happy Saturday, friends!
xx

  1. ~Love this - really wish I'd started my own *cough* 40 before 40, but never have. I know I have ages, turned 37 this year so there is time, but I have so much else going on. Having only found Smash books this year I'm enjoying just Smashing stuff! But I do want to have a book that just for me, for my wishes, achievements etc, hhmmm can see me buying more than one of each colour Smash book! Can't wait for your new releases. Love characters with glasses, would love to see more characters with short hair and glasses ;0) Take care Zo xx

  4. WOW What a great idea...and I have no clue! LOL
My list would have to be 45 before 45 and one thing would be feel more comfortable in my own skin. If I sit and really think I may have more than I think! HUGS

  5. Its funny but I have reconnected with some high school friends through Facebook and we have started a bucket list of places and things we want to do. The number one thing on my list is to visit is the grand canyon while I am still physically fit enough to travel down into the bottom of it. My parents waited and only could bask in its glory from the rim. To accomplish this I need to do a few things. #1 start saving for it and I plan to start that fund when I go back to work in September. #2 lose the weight I let creep on in the last 13 years... AS a person who was always fit it is hard to come to grips that after my unexpected divorce of 20 years I began to eat my troubles then hit menopause and I am now 35 pounds heavier at 56. I REFUSE to believe that this is how I am going to be and have started makin healthy lifestyle changes. My goal is to get there in the next 2 years at a healthy weight so I can enjoy it.

  6. I don't have an age limit, but one thing I want to do is take a trip by myself. See what I want, stop and stare as long as I want, and not feel rushed by my hubby, kids, etc.

  8. Fabulous idea! Mine would be 40 before 40, that would give me five years. my 35th is fast approaching (sept.1) And as I type this I'm a little freaked - 40 in five years. Goodness I remember when I thought that was old. But of course it's not, as I get older and wiser (lol) I am more comfortable about who I am...my life is AWESOME! Thank you for sharing your smash journal. Great embellishments.

Something on my 40 before 40...finish college and graduate school.

  9. I've got a Smash book, it's empty at the minute, I am just waiting to have some time to fill it. Yours is wonderful, it's an inspiration to someone like me that's new to card making, Smashing and Scrapping.

I love all your drawings, but if you're taking requests some kitchen/cooking ones would be cool :)

    Have a great day

  12. I set a goal, five years ago, after having breast cancer. My goal was to beat it......I'm now waiting for the "all clear", which I hope to have in the next couple weeks. Last year I started my first mini Smash book, putting in all the family, friends and bloggers, etc., who had supported and inspired me.....I included snippets of conversations, letters, cards, with photos where I could....and it still inspires and encourages me. Some special pages are for my own thoughts about my love for my Father in Heaven, and my Saviour.
Our Smash books reflect times and seasons in our lives....long may they reign..haahaaa!

  16. I would like to go to Disneyland before I am 40. I don't see my post so I don't think I left one. I am not good with technology so subscribing to all these blogs and then I have to remember to comment! LOL! I love your stuff!

  17. I don't even want to think about what my next "?0" birthday will be LOL

I just love your Smashbook pages Krista - my problem seems to be actually putting something on the page of my books. I have a couple of nicely 'thumbed' ones (cos I love looking at the pages) but I don't seem to be able to stick anything in them for fear of spoiling them.

  19. I used to ask God for a husband by the time I would be 40. We were married in the June of the year following my 40th birthday - just a couple months short of my 41st. So He did honour that & it still blows my mind for it seemed such an impossibility that there would be someone who else who is as peculiarly different as I am. God knew - R's cleaning the bathroom floor at this very moment as he insists he does it better than I do!
