Give A Girl a Blog Giveaway!

Kellie is an Aussie girl who I absolutely adore.  She is sweet and quirky.  I imagine if I spent an afternoon with her, my ribs would hurt from laughing.  Her journalling is a constant source of inspiration for me.  I love going through her posts and looking at the way she puts together pages.  They are always full of little treasures, details, and perfectly placed embellies.

Kellie recently met Amy Tangerine.  (I met Amy at summer CHA, but wimped out of asking her for a photo together:)...Amy has a whole line of pretty Daybooks, all of which Niamh and I have-- and LOVE to work in.  Kellie loves Daybooks, too...And is giving one of my readers a Daybook surprise!  How awesome is that!?  Daybooks are kinda like Smashing...kinda art journally...kinda fabulous in every way! Oh! And they are very addictive, so beware:).

The giveaway is open to ALL readers and closes Wednesday, September 5.  Here are the mandatory ways to enter, and a couple extra ways to increase your chances!

You must follow Saturated Canary.
You must leave a comment--

  3. I started in 2001. I was working at an after school club and one of the leaders got out a heat gun, stamps and embossing powders. I was hooked. The first cards I made were my wedding invites. My addiction has just grown over the years as well as my style. It's one of my main vices but a good one hehe x

  7. I have always been crafty. I made crafts as a child (for the Christmas tree especially). I learned to sew at an early age since I have 6 sisters and they all sewed (as did my Mom). As I got older, I did crafting with flowers, learned to do decorative painting, and now papercrafting.

  8. When did you start getting crafty? My whole life I've been crafty, my mother, and sister were so they got me into it. My grandma has always done genealogy and pictures and I take after her.

Has it been a life-long hobby or was there a year or life event that turned the crafty switch on? I remember in 2000 when all the neat scrapbook stuff came out, I became obsessed. It was so much fun to match things to my pictures. Now its a journal phase! YEAHHH

  24. I've been crafting for around 4 years. I was always arts and crafty growing up, but I decided one day I was going to make cards and did. I came across blogging in 2009 and it has given me so much inspiration. I've recently found out about smashing and bought my first book and accessories last weekend so going to give it a go.
I've joined all the facebook groups because I'm going to need the inspiration when I start my smashing.

  25. I have been crafty for as long as I can remember. I made scrapbooks in the 1960s way before it became fashionable and I still have a couple from my childhood. I used to put photos, postcards, tickets and all sorts in there and they are such fun to look at. I mainly make jewellery and cards now but I am putting together a scrapbook/smash book for my daughter with everything we did for her recent wedding which I hope to give her at Christmas ;0)

For 17 years it's been papercrafting because of a couple of car accidents - crafting helps me to deal with the pain as simple as that! hugs Karen x

  35. I started crafting after I finished my OU degree & then my health nosedived so I couldn't go out to work any more. Crafting allowed me to do something that made me feel I was doing something worthwhile and helped me cope with everything that was spiralling out of control at times. Take care Zo xx

  37. I've been crafty all my life. With my Mom a interior designer and my grandma a seamstress, I was around it all the time. I've done every kind of craft just about you can think of. I started stamping about 8 years ago when my daughter brought a Stampin Up catalog home from dispatch, and I've been stamping ever since.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I have always crafted in some way since I was a little girl - I was the kid who always carried around a coloring book and her pencils and would not only color the pictures but alter them to my liking too, lol!

  40. I'm pretty sure it started as a kid with my grandmother and her sister teaching me to crochet. I won't confess to how many years ago that was, though :-)! I've tried just about every medium, so guess that makes me a "Jill" of all trades and master of none -- but I've sure had fun along the way!

  44. I have been crafty since as long as I can remember. I got the 'bug' for crafting from my crafty grammy. She taught my to sew, crochet, paint, and just create. I can remember the feeling I would get in my soul when going into any craft supply store with her. Even now I get the same feeling. Pure excitement. The creative juices just flow. I think I continue to create because of my life and its direction. Being creative heals a multitude of what ails my heart. That is the gift that creativity brings. ♥

  52. Well as a kid we were 4 girls at home, and we were all 4 forced by my mother to sit and do cross stitch, so to be honest, back then I just hated everything, but when I got my first son, Iwere buying a set of nice dress for him for a wedding, and I was horrified about the price, I had to pay for that, and said to my self, I could do a set just as good as this for much less, so I startd to sew, and when I found out, how easy that was, one thing took another and since then I´ve been doind almost anything thinkable myself and now it´s for my grandkids I create everything.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I have liked and followed all the above :) and I started crafting after my father in law passed to help my mum in law through a bad time and give us both something to focus on :) a good thing came out of a bad thing :)

  62. Oh lord. I've always been a crafter. My mom dabbled in things here and there so I would want to learn her hobbies. I taught myself how to make friendship bracelets and to weave gimp. I've made fabric wreaths with my mom and embossed with stamps all before I was ten. I stopped through my teen years but continued again after a card class I took at AC Moore when I worked there seasonally a few years ago for extra money. So glad to bring that part of me back!!!

  135. oh I have been a follower of Kellie's for a while now... she always has such great ideas to inspire! :)

you crack me up about not getting a photo with Amy T. Just how many folks lined up to get their piccy taken with YOU, missy?! tee hee!!!

I have actually been crafting of some form or another all of my life. I did needlepoint waaaaaay back when in elementary school. I also did a lot of sketching back then, too, but sadly my drawing skills never developed past that level! ha! I did lots of needlework through college and then once kids were born started scrapping.

hope the icky bugs have left all of the bodies there and everyone is feeling hunky dory again to enjoy the holiday! hugs to everyone! :)

  137. I have always been crafty in some manner. I remember trying to make my own clothes when i was a teenager. I have probably tried every single craft out there. But my love of paper crafting is my favorite.

  139. Being crafty goes way back. My grandmother taught me to embroider when I was about at about 9, learned to knit in the 5th grade in campfire girls. My mom and my grandma were wonderful seamstresses which I learned also. Always evolving, I came around to papercrafts and a love for stamps.

  141. I have always loved to craft, but really got going on all things crafty 13 years ago when I got married and moved away from my family. I didn't have a job, couldn't drive our manual transmission truck, so was stuck at home all day and night while my husband worked 60-80 hour weeks. When getting the mail is the highlight of your day, you take up hobbies, sewing, scrapbooking, stamping.

Thanks for the chance to win. I love those daybooks, I found them in Joann's (and was just as surprised and delighted by them) around the same time as your post on them awhile back.

  145. Love the Amy Tangerine line!! I honestly CAN'T remember not being crafty!! I have always felt the urge to craft, draw, create, scrap, etc. I remember my dad complaining one Christmas day when he saw me that evening sketching the toys I had received - not actually playing with them then an there - "we should have just gotten her paper and pens rather than waste money on these toys". Right now I am happily looking around at bins and bins of scrapbooking and rubberstamping and smash booking related items - its my "sanctuary"!!

  150. I've always been a crafty person. I have many different hobbies. My mom and grandma were very crafty women so I think I picked it up from them. I've only been scrapbooking and smashing for seven months. I was unemployed and decided I needed a new hobby to add to the list.

  151. I've always been crafting, but started scrapbooking back on Mothers Day 2005. my love for card making followed some 4yrs later & recent addiction of Smashbooking started on March this year due to a RAK i won on a forum I'm on...I love how I can mix all 3 with various elements. Kellie knows I stalk her blog *probably a little too much hehehe*, liked & loved the FB groups & Saturated Canary what is NOT to love about your digis & blog. everything is so fresh & motivational. Thanks for the chance to win & here's hoping it puts some kiwis on the map :) xxxxoooo
