Yep.
We were grasping at straws for a last minute costume for Philly a few years back.

We threw a witch hat on him.
Colored a nice little goatee on the kid.
And stuck a piece of bread down the front and back of his collar.

He went as a Man-Witch Sandwich.

I know.
That was so mean to do to him.
Although-- huge perk: he had a snack midway through trick-or-treating.

I loved this October Afternoon Mini Album the minute I saw it!  Figured it was perfect to add old Halloween photos to, decorate, journal, and scrap in.  Plus, it makes a super fun coffee table book for fall.  Now everyone who visits can smile at our parade of costumes through the years!  I used my October Afternoon stash to fill it with cuteness:).

I am only a few pages in, so I will post the finished product next week!
Simply put, it is a wonderful project for scrappers...and makes a pretty neat addition to your fall/Halloween decorations when left out for all to flip through:).

What is the worst/ most funny costume in your past?
xx

  3. Man Witch Sandwich,,, lol very cleaver!!! We dont celebrate Halloween here in NZ. We have a some shops that sell Halloween product... and a few kids trick or treat... but it hasnt really caught on in a big way here... no pumpkin craving etc... so it always amazes's me when I see how much effort goes into costumes, decorations etc over your way.

  4. I had a dancing costume in which a hula hoop was sewn around the middle of the costume...it was a hoot! So, the "clown costume" went through most of me and my sisters over the years. Such wonderful memories as my Great Grandmother made the costume, the dance teacher was a mentor for us all...you know, good stuff!

  5. Oh my word, Krista, they are just the cutest pics of Niamh and Philly! Here's to Halloween 2012, even though it's not so big here in the UK!
Just been looking at your last Instagram post and Niamh looks so much like her Daddy in her serious cheerleader pose! Have a great October! Lisa x

  9. Oh, how funny :) What an extremely cute 'Man-Witch Sandwich' and what a fun mini album! Love all the embellies too!

I think my most memorable costume was for a dance show when I was about 6 years old. We had to dress up as lambs and I had every faith in my Mum who was making my costume until I saw all of the other 'lambs'. No word of a lie, everyone else had cute cottonball tails ..... I had the longest trailing tail you ever did see!! I was mortified at the time although I'm sure it gave our audience a good giggle ;)

  10. Very cute pics, Krista. Man-witch is an original, for sure...hehe. I remember a bad costume one year in high school. I cut the outer seams and sewed 3 pairs of jeans together, and with 2 guys that were twins, we doubled-up our legs and went as triple siamese twins. I'm surprised we didn't break our legs trying to walk. Gosh, I can't believe I even remember that! I haven't thought of that for about 35 years...! I bet I'll have nightmares tonight... great... :(

  14. Cuuuuute!! Haven't had any costumes that were too bad...my 14 year old, ever since I can remember, has always been either batman, superman, or spiderman. (daughter, I might add) She's got a thing for super-heroes!

  18. Hello Krista! I love looking at your Smash pages. I don't smash myself but find your pages so pretty and fun to look at! And your kiddos are so sweet ❤ What a proud Mum you must be!
I like the Man-witch sandwich!!! Very creative and clever!
I love everything about Halloween (and your Halloween digis included :-)) but we don't celebrate it that much here in France :-( There are kids that trick or treat, there are some decorations/parties here and there but nothing compared to the USA :-(
    Have a great day!
    Silvie xx
