It Doesn't Feel Like Christmas...

...Until Pokey, our Elf on the Shelf, arrives.

And this year, we found him a friend.  Her name is Peppermint.
His cheeks blushed a little deeper red when we introduced them...She is cute like that.

Now the festivities can begin.
Also, bedtime is like a breeeeeeeze for the next few weeks.
That elf is so awesome.
No whispers or giggles or anything...Just quiet.
And good reports to Santa;).

Does your house have any tiny Christmas visitors?

  1. Our house begins to feel like Christmas once we bring out our little Santa from the 40's. it belonged to my grandmother, then my mom, now I'll pass down to my daughter. Don't you just love traditions...

  6. This year is our first year with a child in the house. I can't wait to start our own family traditions. Growing up putting up our tree was always a family affair complete with a box of turtle's chocolates.

  9. I feel so deprived!! lol... I never even had heard of 'elf on the shelf' until last year from bloggers like you! I guess my folks kept us under a rock growing up. I told my Ben we should grab an elf.. but now he just wants to invent his own 'troll in a drawer' or 'gnome in the microwave'.. such a 'rebel' that one. ;o)
I'm eager to start up our advent calendar soon! We aren't 'allowed' to decorate until exactly Dec.1st around this nest.. eager for it!
    Happy Sunday sweets!

  18. I adore the Elf on the Shelf and all of the antics he can get up to. Wish he'd been around when my daughter was little. I tried to convince my daughter I could buy an elf and she could come over every day and see what the elf was up to. No dice! Guess I'll have to wait until she gives me grand kids. lol Blessings and hugs!!!

  19. Oh yes we have lots of traditions and small visitors all over the house, and they all have their very special place in the house, and even my son is now almost 31, he still go around and move them to their right spots, if I for some reason have put them into a wrong place, cause they have to sit on their right places ha ha ha ha. And all the grandkids also always comes around here on 1st December, where it´s tradition our decorations must be ready, and it´ll be a disaster, if it´s not ready and they too walk around and check, that everything is in their right places. Things HAS to be as they´ve always been here ha ha ha. It´s okay with new things, but all the old ones still has to be here too, so it´s been a bit over all these years, so we have many many small elfs hiding everywhere in the house in December here. But it´s just fine, cause I just absolutely LOVE everything about christmas and traditions.

  20. There isn't a visible guest; however, there is a guest that (finally) gets wrapped and given to an unsuspecting person which contains...wait for it...the Christmas armadillo! The rule is: she MUST BE VISIBLE anytime we visit the recipient's home throughout the year. Only at Christmas can you masquerade the "gift" to give to the next unsuspecting person. LOL! It is pretty fun. Of course, we also have a pickle to find in the tree. TFS!

  24. I have two little elves like yours from my own childhood, but that was way before I ever heard of the "Elf on the Shelf" story. Now my son is 19, so when he gets married and has his own place, I will probably pass the elves on to him for his children some day. Love that wreath too, Krista, and I would have totally thought you made it if you wouldn't have mentioned differently in a reply above :) Oh the anticipation of Christmas ... so much fun when your children are little. Enjoy! Hugs, Kelly

  25. Those elves look sooooooooooooo cute sat on your lovely wreath.

I used to have a cardboard Santa that my parents bought on Christmas Eve the year I was born. Every year it would come out and take pride of place. Unfortunately, when we had some work done in the house a few years ago hubby packed a load of stuff away so it was out of the way of the contractors and I think he managed to mix up some of the storage bags with rubbish bags...Santa hasn't been seen since.

  26. Our Tiny Visitor arrived yesterday. You would think Santa himself is in our house the way the kids are behaving! :) My daughter (5) named the elf Christopher Popinkins, hehe, b/c that's the name her cousin's elf. And my son (3)named the same elf Caillou! Enjoy your Christmas season!

    Many Blessings,
