New Year's Recipe!

 

Erika from Southern Girl's Kitchen is sharing a recipe perfect for your New Year's party...And it can be  made without the alcohol and tastes just as delish!  

1 cup whole milk

1/3 cup of biscoff spread

1 cup bourbon 

4 large scoops of vanilla ice cream

Using a blender, mix all ingredients together until well blended and smooth.  This makes two 8 oz milkshakes.  Garnish with homemade whipping cream or reddi-whip (which is much easier;).  Crush up some biscoff cookies and sprinkle on top!

Pinterest Winners...

A quick, but exciting announcement today.

Below are the winners of the Pinterest contest.  I chose the characters based on a few things-- taking into account what would make a unique, interesting, and fun character; the cohesiveness of the board; and the photos chosen to describe the character...but even more than that, I kinda fell in love with the descriptions these ladies left for their inspired character.

I had about 10 finalists that were the toughest to go through and whittle down to just the ones below.  I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took the time to enter the contest.  It was really fun to see your creative ideas, what you want to see in stamps, and what inspires you personally.

This will be a set of two music lovers (I could not decide between them, as they seemed like similar characters, just different genders:)...

Angela Mireles and Debbi Glennie.  

My inspiration for a SC girl: would be a music lover Rockin the Beats on the 1's and 2's turning them wheels of steel. Crate digger indeed, She'd be super cute and super cool and there would be no mistaking this music loving DJ for anyone else. She'd have the cleanest beats equipment by her side and on her ears. All I need is a beauty and a beat <3.

Who knows what she will become one day when she finally breaks free!!??

I take my shoes off.

I cannot wait until 1pm tomorrow when the kids start their Christmas vacation.

I just want to snuggle down into a cozy house for the next week and enjoy being together.

I'm looking so forward to late nights, sleeping in, movies, snacks, games, and stories.  

And a pair of ridiculously bright, neon yellow sneakers I think are hidden somewhere in this house.  In a size 8.  Just waiting to for me.  I think hope.

Make it Crafty Advent, Day 16! (My Day #5:)...

 

The MiC girls are doing this fun, grown-up, crafty advent calendar this month!  Each day they reveal a sneak peek of a project, and you can click the link to open that day's door.  I am behind day 16 door:). 

This is my project...I used the Mini Book Style Box Kit and the Delicate Butterflies Chipboard.  The book is so fun to decorate; I am going to use it for Niamh's teacher's Christmas present.  My favorite parts are the sparkly butterflies, though:)...I love all the delicate swirls in the wings!

Today I'm skipping my scheduled post in light of the tragedy in Connecticut.

Knowing there are families who have Christmas gifts hidden away for a child that won't be with them on Christmas anymore...that is a heartbreaking thought that makes me feel sick.

Today is simply beyond sad.  

And most of us just feel the outskirts of the pain.

I cannot fathom being in the center of this tragedy.  

Despite our broken and fallen world, 

their is a perfect Source of comfort.  

May God heal the families' lives and be an ever present source of strength

for their grieving hearts.

12 Days of Christmas, Day 4!

 

 

 

This is my still going (holler!) December Daily, Day 11.  

Our elves, Pokey and Peppermint, have been hopping through the house this month...

They even made a pit stop at McD's the other night-- cuz we found them still chowing down on a small fry in the morning:).

Day #3, Santa Cookies Recipe!

Today I have a yummy recipe from Mawiyah.  

She is too pretty.  

Her cookies look too delicious.  

And Santa...bet he is just smitten with this mama.  

...In fact, I'd bet she's the one he gets caught kissing on:).

So, Santa is totally on his way. Are you ready? My son is 10 and Santa is so last year. But my baby girl? She's 6 and the gleam in her eye is infectious! I made these cookies because Santa deserves the best. So we got all fancy at our house.

These cookies are so dang good - Santa just might move in...

 

I love a recipe that requires beating something with a hammer. Therapeutic :) I like to leave my pistachios a little on the chunky side. Gives me something to sink my teeth into!

 

 

This is where miracles occur. Peep the sea salt sprinkled atop these cookie rounds? Please don't skip this step. Sprinkle these bad boys til' your problems float down the river Jordan. You'll thank me later.
