Valentine's Giveaway x 30

saturated canary digis

This has turned into a bit of a giveaway week:).  But that is okay. It is always fun to try and win something, right?:)

I am *most* excited about today's giveaway...kinda been looking forward to it for a while.
I'd even like to introduce you to someone.
She and her husband are amazing authors.
This book changed my life.  I can say that honestly, without any exaggeration.
And right now, Phil and I are in the middle of a couple more books~ also, a DVD series.

Their names are John and Stasi Eldredge.  Many of you have probably heard of them and even read some of the same books I cherish.

I wanted to do a really fun Valentine's giveaway...something that went good with hearts and love...And while I was thinking about it, I was doing a little shopping in the Ransomed Heart shop for Phil.  That's when it hit me- I want to give something that really touches someone's heart...
~~~Not just an oh! I won! happy heart thing~~~
But something real.  Something beautiful.  Something Captivating.
I wrote Stasi and asked if she would like to chime in on my little blog space today--
Which she was willing to do.  And that made my week:)...
So, enjoy a little from a wonderful author...and be sure to read all the way to the bottom for the giveaway details!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
For those who don’t care much for pink and red and hearts all over – they are about to melt away for another year. But whether you like them or not, Valentine’s Day is here. My sons refer to it as “Single’s Awareness Day”. Man this holiday can prick.
I’ve been single on it and not. I’ve been in a good place in my marriage on it and not. I’ve yet to receive a frilly heart shaped box filled with chocolates or be swept off my feet by the love of my life clenching a rose between his teeth. Ah well, a girl can dream.
Through the years and regardless of what has been going on in my relationship(s), I have had a thing for Valentine’s Day. I love it. I love “love”. I love celebrating the centrality of the heart. I love being pricked in the places where I long for more. (And no, I’m not usually a masochist.)
See, I’ve fallen in love with my capital “V” Valentine. There is One who sees me always, loves me deeply and understands me fully. There is One who gets my jokes, my sorrows, my failures and never turns his face away. I am loved. Completely, fully, totally. By One who pursues me with sunsets, shooting stars, the feel of a gentle breeze and yes, chocolate.
Jesus is my Valentine. He loves me today. Always has, always will. He loves you, too. It’s really him who is asking, “Will you be Mine?”. I’ve answered him “yes” and discovered a love worthy of Happy Heart Day and every other day of my life.
May your day be blessed. May you know that whatever is happening around you or within you – you are loved. Today and every day.
~Stasi Eldredge
  9. hum...there are many 'things' but "what my heart longs for the most is peace in the knowledge that I am enough. Doing enough in my life, being enough for my husband, teaching enough to my kids, loving enough, just Living enough.
  10. How awesome. i have heard of this book. Luckily I have a great marriage, one that leaves me no wantings, but I worry about my girls, if I have not done enough to make sure that they can have a marriage that is amazing. I just want them to be happy like I am, we may not have a million dollars and we have to make the mortgage payment and keep the lights on, but we always seem to make it and we do it together!!
    I've had quite a tough year, spiritually; my heart is longing for more of Jesus and more wonderful words to encourage and inspire me on whatever this road is that He's leading me down. A book like this would be fantastic.
  17. Krista, you asked the question What is something your heart longs for? It made me think really hard as I thought I already had everything that my heart longed for. But the question kept popping up in my mind. And then it struck me. I am mother to three incredible sons. What MY heart longs for is that they will become incredible partners to their loved ones one day and that all the lessons we have taught them will make them romantic, honest, respectful and dedicated men. The "flowers just because" type of guys. And if that happens, then my heart will long for nothing else.
  18. Wow what a fabulous giveaway Krista. You have a real good heart. My heart longs for complete inner peace, to forgive myself and others and to no longer hurt for the past which cannot be undone. And I would love to be able to craft all day long so my mind drifts off into the clouds. I need to afford to retire for that lol.
    Hugz to a special lady x
  19. It's hard for me to think of something that my heart longs for.....I am already so truly and utterly blessed with a fine, righteous man who has cherished me, adored me, and tells me often that I am his for eternity (married for almost 44 years now). We have 5 grown and happily married children, our 18th beautiful grandchild was born just this week, and I am blessed to still have my dear Mum with me.
    So, what more can I ask for? Apart from the blessing that each and every one of my children and grandchildren will continue to grow in their faith in the Lord....to love Him and serve Him, as they already do.....the only thing that would complete my heart is to hold the baby that I lost, 26 years ago. I trust in my Heavenly Father that I will have that precious child (a little girl) returned to me in the next life. I did have another child, the year after I lost her, and he is loved as much as any of my children.....but I yearn for the babe I never got to hold. To do so is the desire of my heart. x
  20. I'd love to win one to read and than to share with ones I love.. I was thinking about writing a thread about how Valentines day shows the ones not in a secure relationship that they should go out and just get anyone rather than be alone.. So NOT what we are suppose to do.. Jesus doesn't want us in a dead end relationship but in one that we grow and can share our love in. Please everyone... save yourself for that special someone that is meant just for you..
  52. Goodness me, Krista! You bought 30 of them to give away! You are a kind and generous soul. What does my heart long for? It longs for respect. Not respect for me but respect for one another; a return to the values of consideration for others - to the values of working hard to get want we want in life instead of expecting the world to provide it to us or even just taking it. A return to the values of basic common decency to one's fellow man (and woman of course), of seeing opportunities to help others even in small ways. Wouldn't it be lovely if everyone was kind and generous! Hugs, Lesley
  54. Truly my heart longs for so many things, not the least of which is a better world all across this great globe. A world without hate and war and crime - and specifically crime against women and children. A world where women and children are not persecuted and treated as subservient. But my heart also longs for my children and grandchildren to life happy, healthy lives with God-filled hearts that just burst with desire to be the good, honest and righteous (not self-righteous by any means) people God wants us to be and to do his good work by being helpful to others. If they could truly have God-filled hearts the rest would be covered. I could write a lot more of what my heart longs for, but this will do for now.
  63. What a generous heart you have! Thank you for another great giveaway chance.
    What do I long for? I hope it doesn't sound contrived, but I don't long for much more in my life other than seeing my two sons continue to learn, laugh, and bring smiles to the people they meet. I long for the day that they are able to communicate/talk and tell me just what they're thinking about or how they are feeling. One has autism, the other has cerebral palsy....there are days when I just don't think I could do it any longer (but of course, I do!), because there are more days that they just make my heart so happy. They are my world, and I just long for the day when I can hear their sweet voices tell me that they love me too.
BUT my heart longs for them to stand by their Christian values and for them not to be ashamed of their God, that they have the strength to stand up to there peers about how uncool it is to be a Christian. These are things I faced growing up and I can only hope that I made my God proud that I stood by him as he has stood by me.
  119. I am SO grateful to you for gifting this book to 30 deserving women! It undeniably changed my life and my heart. It was a huge piece of a large and difficult, dark puzzle to not only proposing that I just may be worth something to someone...but planting the idea - the truth I was slowly considering then allowing myself to believe, that I, am Captivating.
  122. Krista, due to health reasons... I was FORCED to stop working. My husband has an awesome job and is a GREAT provider and I do not have to work. Unfortunately my heart does not understand and I long to go back into the work force. Sounds silly I'm sure but I enjoyed playing the part of wonder woman... taking care of my family, my home and my responsibilities at work.
  123. My heart longs to have had more time with my Mom. She died a year to the day she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Through out our relationship my mom and I were always at odds. Loved eachother unconditionally, but constantly bumped heads. I wish I had more time to reconcile that. She talked to me a lone just a few hours before she passed away., and for the life of me, I can't remember exactly how her words went. I'd do anything to have that 10 minutes back. That is what my heart longs for.
  129. First and foremost, I long for a deeper relationship with our Creator. He has blessed me in more ways than I probably deserve. I long to see my family understand how important we all are and how each of us has our strengths yet needs each others support for our weaknesses. I long to release my inner creativity in a manner that inspires others. And, when my time here is done, I long to meet my Creator face to face and thank Him for His many blessings He has bestowed upon me. Then, I long to see my mother who passed away when I was only four and hug her to me tightly and hear her voice say she loves me.
  133. I long for many things that are temporal, but we all have a God sized hole in our hearts that only god can feel. So what I really long for is a deeper walk with the God that loved me so much that he gave his only begotten son to die for me.
    I long for a life without suffering from anxiety, depression and high blood pressure. I was diagnosed last year after a lot of personal stuff pushed me over my limit and it really has effected my life (and still does) and I could do with some extra strength to get through each day.
    My heart longs for my girls to grow up to be confident and know how much they are loved. Seeing such mean hateful things that girls do to eachother these days, this is my one wish for them both...to shield them from these events and give them the strength to pass thru with courage and grace.
  152. I am a Christian and my heart longs everyday for God's love, touch, presence and move in my life. Staying close to HIM and hearing HIS voice is vital to my spiritual life and physical life here on earth. I know I am nothing and can do nothing without HIM. The way I am able to stay close to HIM is by reading HIS word, the Bible.
  155. You can bless someone but for a moment (a digital freebie ;-0), or you can bless someone for a lifetime - sharing Jesus with them! How wonderful to see so many hoping to be one of 30 to win one of these books...a book that has blessed you so much! I pray that for the ones who do not "win", that they will go to their local Christian bookstore and purchase one for themselves and/or someone that they in turn wish to bless. There have been a couple of books that my husband and I have given away over the years and one that we still give, for someone going through difficult times, is Stormie Omartian's, "Just Enough Light For The Step I'm On". The chapter on "Surrenduring My Dreams" helped me immensely after the death of our daughter Desiree. Blessings Krista and Stasi!
  174. Please delete my previous entry, I don't know what I pressed on my lappy that made it refresh the page, so just incase, this is my official entry.
    Thank you for the giveaway. You are always so thoughtful.
    When I first thought about your question (my heart's DESIRE), I thought of what I'd like, which is to own my own craft company and/or design for a major craft company like October Afternoon or something. Then I asked myself again that question, but this time I made "HEART" capital and "desire" small. The answer was easy. To be a better mother and wife.
